What did you think about our election campaign?

May 23, 2021 4:22 PM

I wanted to thank you and all our other helpers here in Maldon for your help in the run up to the Essex County Council Election.

Unfortunately I was not elected in Maldon but we did get 20.24% of the vote - an increase of 9.02%. This would not have been possible without the fantastic help and support of the great local team who deliver our leaflets throughout the year and who work hard behind the scenes on a multitude of different areas.

Liberal Democrat councillors pride themselves on being community champions who work hard all year round, but it's so much easier and more enjoyable to do that when you are part of a great team of people. If you aren't already helping and would be able to spend an hour every month or so delivering leaflets for us or supporting with our work more generally, please do let me know.

We are already starting to plan our campaign for the Local Council elections in May 2023. To start that, we want your feedback on what we do well, and what we can improve. So please do fill in this (anonymous) survey, or email me with your comments.

Also, do let me know if you'd like to get more involved with our campaigns. Perhaps you would consider standing as a candidate yourself and helping to run our Council?

If you aren't already a member, please do join the party so you can have a direct say in what we do and choose our candidates.

Find out more about joining the Lib Dems

As restrictions are now lifting we will be having our first post Covid social event in the form of a Maldon based Lib Dem Pint on 27 May 2021 at the Queen's Head from 7.30pm. I do hope you can join us.

There will also be future events when we will be discussing policy and local issues - look out for our emails about these, and if there's an area of policy on which you are an expert and you'd like to lead a discussion about, or if there's any local issues you think we should be exploring, do let me know.

Thanks once again
